Daily Stream: Miss Hall's Art Class

Joe Camerlengo & Courtney Hall

May 27, 2020

Two members of Classical Baby, seen at the Wex accompanying silent shorts during the 2019 Zoom: Family Film Fest, have been busy at home with an expanding online educational resource, the next offering in our series of youth tutorials from local artists.

Outside of band life, Courtney Hall teaches art to pre-K through eighth graders at Clintonville Academy and Joe Camerlengo is a nurse. Married last year, the couple has been collaborating for the past couple of months on Miss Hall's Art Class, a YouTube channel populated with dynamic visual art tutorials. Two playlists are available so far: a series on color theory and a "Tiny Art" series for children pre-K through second grade. According to the Camerlengo and Hall, this summer will bring a series of summer camp-themed videos with nature-based art projects.

In addition to partnering with Hall on the YouTube channel, Camerlengo recently used his work life skills to make an informational video for a young relative about the COVID-19 pandemic, to help make it a little less scary. The artist agreed to let us share it here: an homage to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood entitled The Bad Germs.
