One of the events we're saddest to postpone this spring is a visit by acclaimed cartoonist Derf Backderf with his new book Kent State: Four Dead in Ohio. We hope to bring him in the fall in partnership with our friends at Ohio State’s Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum.

Derf, an Ohio State graduate, was generous enough to spend a little time with me to discuss the postponement of the release of his latest book and the accompanying tour and some of the influences on his work including specific comics, movies, and more.

Derf is the award-winning creator of the graphic novels My Friend Dahmer (2012), Trashed (2015), and more. The release of Kent State has been pushed back to September 8. Keep an eye on our calendar for a rescheduled visit.
